Greg is an Associate in the IT & Engineering team. He joined Mathys and Squire in 2024 after working at another UK firm for 6 years. Greg is experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and has advised numerous clients in relation to freedom to operate.
Expertise
Greg has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting UK and European patent applications. He has also advised clients on matters relating to their freedom to operate (FtO), including infringement and validity analysis in from both offensive and defensive perspectives. Greg is also experienced with registered designs, including obtaining design registration in the UK, EU, USA and via the Hague system and providing FtO opinions on registered designs in the UK and EU.
Greg has worked with a broad range of clients from individual inventors to multinational corporations. Greg is has experience spanning various sectors, chiefly including the mechanical, engineering, automotive and telecoms.
Academic
Greg graduated from the University of Manchester in 2018 with a master’s degree in Maths and Physics. In his final year projects, Greg investigated methods for extracting renewable energy from ocean waves and also worked on spintronics, a developing area within the field solid state physics.
