Legal Notices

Mathys & Squire LLP is a limited liability partnership registered in England & Wales under registered number OC335375. Its registered office is 120 Holborn, London EC1N 2SQ. A list of the members of the LLP is open to inspection at the registered office. The word “partner” is intended to refer to a member of the LLP or an employee or consultant of similar seniority.

A Limited Liability Partnership (“LLP”) is a corporate body, registered at Companies House, with members instead of partners. In common with most of the professional services firms who have converted to LLP status, the term partner is used to refer to a member (or senior employee) of the LLP.

LLP status was introduced in the UK in 2001 to enable members of an LLP to obtain the protection of limited liability status and is increasingly becoming the preferred legal structure for professional services firms. In particular, conversion to LLP status removes the threat of unlimited personal liability for members, and therefore enables the firm to attract and retain patent and trade mark attorneys of the highest calibre in order to service clients’ needs.

The change in legal status has no bearing on the high level of service the firm provides, and appropriate professional indemnity insurance is of course retained for the protection of clients, details of which are available on request.
