Sam has an Honours Degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Molecular Virology, both from Imperial College London. Her PhD focused on the identification of host factors involved in the Hepatitis C Virus replication cycle through the use of microarray expression profiling and siRNA silencing techniques. Her PhD research was the subject of several international presentations and was published in the Journal of Virology.
After completing her degree, Sam worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry for two years, developing therapeutic antibodies for use in the treatment of cancer and immune system disorders.
Sam joined Mathys and Squire in 2011 and has experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide, particularly in the fields of molecular biology and biotechnology.
