Paul started his working career on the graduate scheme of a major FMCG company before moving into the patent profession in 2004 in a private practice firm of patent attorneys. While there, he gained a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law with distinction from Queen Mary College, University of London.
Following this experience in private practice, Paul moved to the in-house patent department of a large biopharmaceutical company, before qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2007 and as a European Patent Attorney in 2008.
Paul has experience of a wide range of subject matter across both the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields, with a particular interest in the patenting of antibodies and small molecule drugs. He is also experienced in the conduct of Opposition and Appeal Hearings before the European Patent Office
Paul joined Mathys & Squire in 2011.
